Sukkot 2007: The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement Marched to the Temple Mount and the City of David to Commemorate the Building of the First Temple by King Solomon on Sukkot Almost 3,000 Years Ago, and to Call Israel to Immediately Rebuild the Temple

On Sunday morning (18 Tishrei 5768 / September 30, 2007), the Temple Mount Faithful Movement experienced one of its most exciting events on the way to rebuild the Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. This event took place during the festival of Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) — the same festival during which King Solomon celebrated the building of the first Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem almost 3,000 years ago. The goal of this event at this critical time of redemption was twofold:

  1. to commemorate the building of Solomon's Temple; and
  2. to call the people of Israel — especially their leadership — to rebuild the third Temple.

Indeed, this special event took place at a very special time in the history of Israel. It is during this time that Israel continues to rebuild the Kingdom of G-d in the holy land while her many enemies are trying to stop it. In so doing, they are attempting to destroy one of the most godly events in all of history: the rebirth of Israel in the promised land. Our message during this special event was simple: the enemy is trying to destroy but we shall build! Our enemies are coming against the people of G-d with hatred, while we are coming before G-d with love and faithfulness. Many thousands of Israeli pilgrims completely covered the Western Wall Plaza with prayers for the redemption of the Temple Mount and the rebuilding of the Temple in our lifetime.

As they marched, Temple Mount Faithful members carried with them a large model of the soon-to-be built Temple. Their message was very clear: immediately answer the call of G-d to His people so that they may rebuild His house in order to usher in the godly era when His Divine Presence will again dwell in the Holy of Holies in His Temple. The presence of the model of the Temple among the pilgrims raised a 2,000 year old desire to see the Temple rebuilt. It inspired them deeply, strengthening them to pray and stand with the Faithful Movement on her campaign to bring to pass this godly Jewish dream, that it may be fulfilled in their lifetime.

When the Faithful members walked up on the Temple Mount, they stood in front of the Holy of Holies and silently prayed the exciting prayer of King Solomon, which he prayed after completing the building of the first Temple as he stood in front of the altar of G-d. There he lifted his hands to heaven:

"And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their heart.... But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain You; how much less this house that I have built? Yet have regard for the prayer of Your servant, and for his supplication, O Lord my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer, which Your servant prays before You today; that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward the place of which You have said, 'My name shall be there'; that You may listen to the prayer which Your servant shall make toward this place. And listen to the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place; and hear You in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive. If any man trespasses against his neighbor, and an oath is laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath comes before Your altar in this house; then hear you in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness... And also concerning a stranger, who is not of Your people Israel, but comes from a far country for Your name's sake; For they shall hear of Your great name, and of Your strong hand, and of Your stretched out arm; when he shall come and pray toward this house; Hear You in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to You for; that all people of the earth may know Your name, to fear You, as do Your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by Your name. If Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You shall send them, and shall pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for Your name; Then hear You in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.... For they are Your people, and Your inheritance, whom You brought forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron; that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant, and to the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them in all that they call for to You. For You did set them apart from among all the people of the earth, to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by the hand of Moses Your servant, when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God." (1 Kings 8:23, 27-32, 41-45, 51-53).

It was a special historical moment in the endtime history of Israel. It commemorated the building of Solomon's Temple, with a great desire for the building of the Third Temple. It was a great moment that opened a new important stage in the campaign and work of the Faithful Movement in their effort to rebuild the Third Temple during our lifetime.

From the Temple Mount, the Faithful marched to the historical Pool of Siloam in the city of David. There they performed the biblical ceremony of Nisuch Hamaim exactly as it had been done during the times of the Temple, when pilgrims who had come for the Feast of Tabernacles gathered together with the Kings of Israel, the Priests and the Levites and marched to the Pool of Siloam to draw the holy water. This holy water was then poured out on the alter in the Temple with prayers for a blessed new year with rains and G-d's blessings. It was the most joyful and exciting event of all the Hebrew year. Our forefathers believed that those who did not experience and see this exciting event never saw a real joyful event in their lives.

This Sukkot event of the Temple Mount Faithful Movement was another important step towards the fulfillment of our cause. We did it before G-d as messengers of the Israeli nation, and the many people all over the world who stand with us and desire to see the Third Temple becoming a reality in the lifetime of our generation.

We hope to soon send you more information from the Faithful Movement.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
